At the UNHRC on the Russian Federation and Artem Klyga labelled as «foreign agent»

«Connection e.V.», in partnership with «War Resisters’ International» (WRI), participated in the interactive dialogue with Ms. Mariana Katzarova, Special Rapporteur on the situation of Human Rights in the Russian Federation which took place in Geneva during the 60th session of the UN Human Rights Council. After the presentation of the report of the Special Rapporteur and the interventions by Member States, the international advocacy coordinator of «Connection e.V.», Zaira Zafarana, took the floor in the plenary on behalf of «Connection e.V.» and WRI and delivered a statement denouncing the violations of the human right to conscientious objection to military service in Russia, condemning the war of aggression in Ukraine and standing for Russian human rights defenders, including Artem Klyga, Easter Europe program Coordinator at «Connecton e.V.», declared «foreign agent» this past June. The statement details several violations related to forced mobilization, contract soldiers and the case of the conscientious objector Daniil Mukhametov who is seeking asylum in Europe.
