Connection e.V. speaks up at the UN, with WRI, against the war in Ukraine...

...and the violation of human rights of the conscientious objectors involved

«Connection e.V.», in partnership with «War Resisters’ International» (WRI), participated in the interactive dialogue on Ukraine which took place at the conclusion of the 60th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva and delivered a statement denouncing forced conscription in the Russian occupied territories in Ukraine and the lack of implementation of the right of Ukrainian conscientious objectors. In the statement there is a clear expression of solidarity for the people of Ukraine victim of the ongoing war of aggression, an urgent call to the Russian Federation to cease its war an an appeal to Member States to fully respect the human right to conscientious objection to military service.

The meeting started with the oral update by Volker Türk, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, followed by the statement by Ukraine delivered by its ambassador Mr. Yevhenii Tsymbaliuk.
