NO TO WAR IN IRAN

Joint Call From Conscientious Objectors From Turkey, Cyprus, Greece, and Israel

The Initiative «Conscientious Objection in Cyprus» (Kıbrıs’ta vicdani ret), «Association of Conscientious Objectors» (Σύνδεσμος Αντιρρησιών Συνείδησης; Greece), «Conscientious Objection Watch» (Vicdani Ret İzleme; Turkey), «New Profile» (פרופיל חדש; Israel) and «Refusers» (מסרבות, Mesarvot; Israel) have jointly raised this collective voice against the ongoing attacks and the expanding conflict, and for peace that crosses borders.

«We, anti-war voices from Turkey, Cyprus, Greece and Israel, raise a common cry against the ongoing attacks in Iran and the expanding conflict. This cry is not for the power of states and armies, but for the freedom of peoples themselves.

Every new strike, every new front, means greater danger for civilians across the region. Under bombardments, sirens, and forced evacuations, people struggle simply to survive. As the geography of war expands, the space for peace, free speech and democracy shrinks.

War imposes itself not only on battlefields but on every aspect of daily life. Economic collapse, social division, accelerated pollution and a permanent climate of fear are the invisible chains that militarism places on societies. We reject these chains.

The attacks on Iran risk igniting a fire that engulfs the entire Middle East. From Lebanon to Cyprus, from the Gulf to Turkey, this war threatens the shared future of all peoples. Peace is not only a demand for Iran — it is a demand for the whole region.

This solidarity is a call for peace that crosses borders. Peoples’ safety does not result from governments’ war policies, but from their own organization, discussion and mutual support. States manufacture war; peoples defend life.

We reject the reproduction of violence, and strive to strengthen social security and stability.

War policies weaken the living conditions of societies, while peace-oriented solutions expand freedom, sustain life, and deepen solidarity. Occupation and aggression can only generate new crises; peace secures the common future of peoples.

Today, the voice we raise is a call to protect the future. Let us expand the geographies of peace, not war. The shared future of peoples must be built not under the shadow of weapons, but through the free will of communities themselves.
