Why is this important? For more than a year, the Russian Federation has been waging a war of aggression in Ukraine, with devastating consequences. There seems to be no end in sight. Yet we know that men and women on all sides are evading the crimes of war. Tens of thousands are fleeing the Russian Federation and Belarus to avoid being recruited for the war. Thousands are leaving Ukraine because they see their human right to conscientious objection in danger. They are all our hope for overcoming violence.

Nous vous demandons:

• D‘accorder la protection et l’asile aux déserteurs et aux objecteurs de conscience de la Biélorussie et de la Fédération de Russie !
• D‘inviter le gouvernement ukrainien de cesser de persécuter les objecteurs de conscience au service militaire et à leur garantir le plein droit à l’objection de conscience !
• D‘ouvrir les frontières à ceux qui s’opposent à la guerre au prix de grands risques personnels dans leur pays !

Pourquoi c’est important ? Depuis plus d’un an, la Fédération de Russie mène une guerre d’agression en Ukraine, avec des conséquences dévastatrices. Aucune issue ne semble se dessiner. Pourtant, nous savons que des hommes et des femmes de tous bords ne veulent pas participer aux crimes de guerre. Des dizaines de milliers de personnes ont quitté la Fédération de Russie et la Biélorussie pour éviter d’être recrutées pour la guerre. Des milliers ont quitté l’Ukraine parce qu’ils voient leur droit à l’objection de conscience en danger. Ils sont tous notre espoir de vaincre la violence..

(17.02.2023) In autumn 2022, many German politicians agreed that Russian deserters, draft evaders and conscientious objectors should be protected. But the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) is creating other facts. PRO ASYL and Connection e.V. demand clear improvements for conscientious objectors from all sides who do not want to fight in this war.

Conscientious objector goes to prison

(18.01.2023) In Ukraine, on 16 January 2023, Ivano-Frankivsk Appeal Court rejected the appeal of 46-year-old Christian Vitaly Alekseenko against his conviction for refusing call up to the military on conscientious grounds. "I told the court I agree that I have broken the law of Ukraine," Alekseenko told Forum 18, "but I am not guilty under the law of God." When he gets the written verdict, which he expects on 19 January, the one-year imprisonment sentence will go into force and he expects to be taken to prison immediately afterwards.
