2025 Zaira Zafarana, international advocacy coordinator of «Connection e.V.» raised the issue of conscientious objection to military service during the 59th and 60th sessions of the UNHRC in Geneva. Furthermore, together with her team of researchers she submitted country—based reports to UN mechanisms for Member States reviews by treaty committees and for official reporting to the Council.

Connection e.V. participates in the follow up procedure on Ukraine at the UNHRC on freedom of expression

22.07.2025 • «Connection e.V.» submitted a special report to the UNHRC commenting the concluding observations the Committee published at the conclusion of the review of Ukraine and includes updates since November 2021.

At the UNHRC on the Russian Federation and Artem Klyga labelled as «foreign agent»

22.09.2025 • «Connection e.V.», in partnership with WRI, participated in the interactive dialogue with Ms. Mariana Katzarova, Special Rapporteur on the situation of Human Rights in the Russian Federation which took place in Geneva during the 60th session of the UNHRC.

Call for the protection of conscientious objectors from Türkiye at the UNHRC

30.09.2025 • During each session of the Human Rights Council there is a specific item related to the UPR. During this Council meeting there is the adoption by the Council of the outcome of the reviews of the Countries which participated in the last session of the UPR. Each country under review can accept recommendations or note them, meaning refusing to accept them.
