Human Rights Violations Concerning Mobilization in the Ukrainian Territory

(26.08.2024) Together with its international partner Connection e.V. and local partner Ukrainian Pacifist Movement, WRI expresses serious concern about the violation of the human right to conscientious objection to military service in Ukraine. The organisations are deeply concerned about the ongoing war of aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine and the forced mobilization in the occupied territories.

Report concerning the situation of the right to conscientious objection in Bolivia

UN Univeral Periodic Review

(18.07.2024) Connection e.V. has prepared and submitted to the UN a country based report in preparation of the upcoming 48th session of the Universal Periodic Review of the State of Bolivia. The formal session will take place at the UN in Geneva in November 2024.

(12.07.2024) Questa settimana alle Nazioni Unite a Ginevra, WRI e Connection e.V. sono intervenuti nella plenaria del Consiglio dei Diritti Umani per parlare della situazione odierna in Ucraina, menzionando la coscrizione forzata e la militarizzazione dei bambini nei territori occupati, la sospensione del diritto all’obiezione di coscienza e la persecuzione di obiettori e attivisti per la pace come Yurii Sheliazhenko e il Movimento pacifista ucraino da parte delle autorità ucraine.

(11.07.2024) In May 2024, Zaira Zafarana began her work in Connection e.V. as international advocacy coordinator. Her consultancy is aimed to advocate for human rights and in particular for the human right to conscientious objection to military service at the United Nations in Geneva, the Council of Europe, and the European Union.
