2025 • Zaira Zafarana, internationale Advocacy—Koordinatorin von »Connection e.V.«, brachte das Thema der Kriegsdienstverweigerung aus Gewissensgründen während der 59. und 60. Sitzungen des Menschenrechtsrats der Vereinten Nationen in Genf ein. Darüber hinaus reichte sie gemeinsam mit ihrem Forschungsteam länderbezogene Berichte bei UN—Mechanismen ein, sowohl im Rahmen der Staatenüberprüfungen durch Vertragsausschüsse als auch für die offizielle Berichterstattung an den Menschenrechtsrat.

2025 • Zaira Zafarana, international advocacy coordinator of «Connection e.V.» raised the issue of conscientious objection to military service during the 59th and 60th sessions of the UNHRC in Geneva. Furthermore, together with her team of researchers she submitted country—based reports to UN mechanisms for Member States reviews by treaty committees and for official reporting to the Council.

Oktober 2025 die Reueerklärung für eritreische Staatsangehörige wieder für zumutbar erklärt und stellt sich damit explizit gegen die vorherige Rechtsprechung des BVerwG und auch gegen das (damalige) Bundesinnenministerium (BMI) [...].

(16.06.2025) Connection e.V. in partnership with War Resisters International took the floor in the plenary at the opening of the 59th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, to call for the recognition of the right to conscientious objection to military service in Eritrea.
