May 15th 2025: International Conscientious Objection Day

Social Media initiative started

(14.05.2025) Several organizations worldwide stand in solidarity with those who refuse to kill and engage in wars and are for this reason persecuted, criminalized and jailed. The undersigned organizations -active also at the European level- address a specific appeal to the European institutions and Member States to protect and fully implement the right to conscientious objection to military service: "We call on Europe to fully implement this human right and to protect those who object to military service in their own countries and that, because of persecutions, seek protection in European countries."

In memory of the Holocaust, we refuse genocide

One week after the world marked International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we continue to fight for an end to Israel’s wars of aggression in the shadow of its ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people. With the news of Trump’s plans to ethnically cleanse the Gaza Strip – and the completion of a riviera on the ashes of those killed in Israel’s murderous war – we continue forward with our struggle. Our refusal to serve genocide is not new, part of a much longer story.

Russia: Overview of the 2024 Fall Conscription

Rights Violations and Resistance

We have compiled an overview of conscript rights violations that we learned about from appeals to ’Call to Conscience,’ the ’School of the Conscript’ organization, the Conscious Objectors Movement, and partially from the media. We provide examples of arbitrariness, explain how practices are changing and what this might lead to, compare it with the spring draft, and describe how people have defended their rights.

How you helped us, ordinary people, to stop this war

(20.01.2025) My name is Max Kresch, I’m 28 years old. I was a combat soldier, and I refused to continue serving in this unjust war in Gaza. Today I wanted to thank you for helping me and my friends, hundreds of soldiers who refused fighting, to force the Israeli government to stop this war.
