(04.08.2017) Conscientious objector Noa Gur Golan from Israel was sentenced to 30 days in military prison for her refusal to serve in the military. She has already spent for 14 days behind bars last month, after refusing to enlist for the first time.

Israeli army jails conscientious objector for fourth time

(25.05.2017) Israeli conscientious objector Atalya Ben-Abba, 19, was on Wednesday sentenced to a fourth stint in jail for refusing to enlist in the IDF. She has already spent 80 days in prison. Ben-Abba, a Jerusalem resident, was jailed after reporting at the military induction center, where she declared her refusal to serve in the army on the grounds that she was not prepared to take part in the occupation and repression of the Palestinian people.

(07.02.2017) Atalya Ben Abba, 19, from Jerusalem, was sentenced today for 20 days in army prison, for declaring her refusal to be part of the Israeli army and the occupation. Ben Abba is the third conscientious objector being imprisoned currently by the Israeli military. She joins refusers Tamar Alon and Tamar Ze’evi, imprisoned today for their refusal for the fifth time. They are accompanied by the Conscientious Objector network Mesarvot.

Israeli army jails two conscientious objectors for fourth time

(10.01.2017) The Israeli army on January 9, 2017, sent two conscientious objectors to jail for the fourth time, just five days after they had finished serving their third stint in prison. Presenting themselves at the Tel Hashomer military induction base, Tamar Ze’evi, 19, and Tamar Alon, 18, declared their refusal to join the army and take part in the occupation, for which they were sentenced to 30 days’ detention. The army also decided to separate the two women, sending them to different prisons. By the end of this latest period in jail, they will have spent a total of 74 days behind bars for refusing to serve in the army.
